Overlay welding – particularly material-friendly via laser

In this thermal coating process, a filler material (Fe/Ni/Co-based) is melted using laser radiation and metallurgically bonded to the carrier material (steel or nickel-based alloys). Laser cladding offers the advantage of lower thermal stress. The process is also ideal for repairing damage, selectively reinforcing components, and restoring the original geometry of components by applying material.

XXL laser welding system

Our state-of-the-art laser welding system is equipped for XXL workpieces and components: The CNC-controlled 11-axis system offers extremely long travel distances of 7500 mm x 4500 mm x 1000 mm. We utilize a state-of-the-art diode laser, plus a wide variety of powder nozzles. The extremely powerful system with a 16-tonne manipulator, rotary tilting table and shaft lathe also enables efficient build-up welding of inner radii, such as those of pumps or compressor housings, for example for coatings or to restore the original geometry.

Processes:

  • Laser cladding
  • Plasma deposition welding (PTA)
  • TIG welding
  • MIG/MAG welding
  • Autogenous welding
  • Electrode welding
